This bowl was carved out of a solid block of clay in order to give a more organic structure to the form. Inspired by Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese aesthetic philosophy which appreciates aging, scarring and imperfections. Things can often time be beautiful not because they are perfect but simply because it is not, just like life itself. Enjoy the essence of this through a bowl of tea, or simply use it as a display object. Glazed with Shino and fired in an Anagama kiln.
